December Additions

I added pansies to our cactus window garden and fresh pine boughs to a wreath. We decided upon Christmas poinsettas rather than a tree, and added gold leafs to our dinning room table arrangment. We added Christmas lights to our new wall and to our windows and added Christmas cards to our game table. These were our small additions to try to make things look a little festive, while Wendell was taking care of some larger projects. He put up a stained glass of his own design in front of a light over the sink in our hobby room. And on the other side of the hobby room, he added a new work space. Posted by Picasa

My New Sewing Center

This was given to us. A dear friend gave me her serger, while she was in hospice. After she died her husband wanted us to have the sewing cabinet and counter from her sewing studio. We thought that it was worth while to tear out a base cabnit, continue the tile floor where the cabinet was sitting, and find a new home for our file cabinets. Wendell was rather excited to get into the remodeling mode again and finished it real fast. We added a row of dark green tile left over from the new kitchen to cover the gap between the table and the crooked wall. (Wendell says "show me a straight wall and I'll show you a wall not built from lumber").
This will be a wonderful place to sew, but we are already finding a lot of other uses for it. Posted by Picasa
